Hope Water Project
Kensington Orlando is joining the Hope Water Project, and running in the 2018 Disney Marathon, January 6-7, to raise money for clean water for the Pokot tribe in Africa. All level runners are invited, from couch potatoes to experienced runners – training begins in August to get us all ready for the big run in January. Click here for more information on how you can help change the world. Non-runners are also encouraged to join the cause: join the prep & cheer team this year! Why Water and the Pokot?
Ultimately, clean water provides hope for a new future. Water is our most basic and vital need in life. Without it, nothing can happen. Nothing can grow. But with it, everything changes. Clean water quenches thirst — but it also restores health. With access to clean water, life can be given back to a community. We focus our efforts on one forgotten group of people: the Pokot. People whom we know and love. People we consider dear friends. The Pokot are a beautiful, hospitable, and resilient people in Western Kenya. They are also extremely impoverished, neglected, and marginalized; which is why we’re committed to investing in their lives. Over the past eleven years, we’ve entered into a partnership with the Pokot to provide Hope — one clean water well at a time.
